MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Cashier to join our Poplar Bluff Store team! The ideal candidate will support our mission, “Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!” and embody our core values of diversity, integrity, passion, professionalism, respect, and responsibility.
In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, support store operations, and help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for our guests.
Qualifications- No degree is required;
High School Diploma or GED preferred. - Ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers, customers, and management.
- Organized, adaptable, and capable of working with a diverse team.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Possesses a professional appearance, adheres to MERS/Goodwill dress code, and follows all safety and security regulations.
- Greet and acknowledge customers as they enter the store, assist on the sales floor, and respond to the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
- Operate the store cash register: handle cash, process credit card transactions, apply appropriate discounts and returns, and balance the register at shift end.
- Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
- Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
- Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with team members and leadership; work cross‑functionally with other teams to improve communication.
- Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation.
- Contribute to a hazard‑free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and walkways debris‑free.
- Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft; report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
- Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Monthly Bonus up to $250.00
