We’re hiring a Master Tradesperson 3 (electrician) to join our team at HII Mission Technologies. You’ll be part of the only shipyard in the nation that performs the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
In this critical mid-life maintenance, we refuel nuclear reactors, overhaul machinery, and modernize warfare systems. Your work will directly support the Aircraft Carrier Climate Improvement Team (ACCCIT) by repairing electrical systems for shipboard ventilation, helping to ensure these carriers have the improved capabilities they need for their remaining 25 years of service.

What You Will Do- Able to work within trades team on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.
- Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software onboard Aircraft Carriers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunction to eliminate problems in minimum time.
- Apply understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
- Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
- Develop and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Schedule, report and brief customers and senior management.
- Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment.
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Candidate must have knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and its associated equipment.
- Candidate must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics.
