Head of production – machine tool company

Our client is a globally renowned manufacturer of high‑precision machine tools. to strengthen the management team at its production facility in pordenone (pn), we are looking for an experienced and hands‑on head of production.

lead and optimise all manufacturing operations to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality machine tools while meeting cost, productivity, safety and customer‑satisfaction targets.
develop and execute the production plan in line with business priorities and customer commitments; monitor progress and resolve bottlenecks.
balance production capacity with available resources and ensure on‑time delivery.
lead all production departments (mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, commissioning, testing, internal logistics) and ensure efficient utilisation of manpower, equipment and facilities.
coordinate production priorities and optimise production flow.
coach, develop and motivate production managers, supervisors and team leaders; build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
support workforce planning and recruitment together with hr.
manage the production budget, monitor labour productivity and manufacturing costs; identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives.
support investment decisions related to production equipment and technologies.
technical degree (mechanical or industrial engineering preferred).
several years of leadership experience in industrial production, ideally in the machine‑tool or machinery sector.
strong background in production planning, shop‑floor management and operational excellence.
experience with lean manufacturing and process optimisation.
proven leadership skills with a structured, hands‑on approach.
experience with erp systems; sap is an advantage.
good command of english and italian; german is a plus.
