Carpentry Foundation Instructor

North Island College is seeking a Carpentry Foundation Instructor in Port Alberni. This sessional position focuses on delivering the BC pre-apprenticeship program and involves lesson planning and student support.

As an Instructor in the Trades and Technical Programs, you will be responsible for teaching essential carpentry skills and maintaining equipment. Your experience will guide the development of learning materials and effective instructional delivery. This role emphasizes a supportive environment for students and may require participation in various college activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare all instructional materials

• Teach various carpentry techniques and skills

• Maintain student records and progress evaluations

• Support learning through office hours and feedback

• Participate in departmental meetings and planning

Requirements:

• Journeyperson Interprovincial Qualification in Carpentry

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience

• Experience instructing carpentry programs

• Completion of Provincial Instructors Diploma program

• Strong knowledge of training program requirements
