Position: Mental Health RN/RPN Crisis Response Role
Be a part of Island Health as a Mental Health Crisis Nurse (RN/RPN) in Port Alberni, BC. Provide crucial care for children and youth undergoing mental health crises.

In this role, you will engage with a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments and crisis stabilization for youth. Your responsibilities include developing care plans, managing cases, and offering therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's needs. You will play a key role in ensuring effective communication with families and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis assessments and stabilization for youth

• Develop individual therapeutic care plans

• Coordinate with community service providers

• Document assessments and care processes

• Implement discharge planning and follow-up

Requirements:

• Current registration as RN or RPN in BC

• Minimum of 2 years working with youth in mental health

• Training in NVCI and current CPR certification

• Knowledge of psychiatric treatments and legal frameworks

• Ability to work under pressure and build therapeutic relationships
