Position: Casual Residence Worker (Inlet Recovery Home | )

Inlet Recovery Home

The Inlet Recovery Home is a Stabilization and Supported Recovery program that provides a structured, stable living environment for individuals in early recovery. The program offers short‑term (30‑90 days) housing and recovery supports for up to eight individuals as they transition from intensive treatment toward the next phase of recovery.

We provide 24/7 staffing support to residents, including case management, individualized recovery planning, peer support, life‑skills development, connection to employment and education opportunities, and support accessing long‑term treatment programs or other mental health and addiction services. This is a non‑clinical recovery residence designed for individuals who have completed (or do not require) medically supervised withdrawal care.

Role Purpose

This position will provide casework and support to residents to enhance their quality of life, ensure the orderly and safe operation of the facility, and maintain the goals of supportive recovery and individualized service plans.

Reporting and Working Relationships
  • Reports and is accountable to the Program Manager or their designate
  • Participates actively in house, staff, and staff/resident meetings
  • Participates as a member of the Connective staff team
  • Liaises with outside professionals from other agencies or government bodies as required
Status and Classification

Unionized. This position is open to applicants of all genders.

Hours (Casual hours are not guaranteed)
  • Casual employees must be available for at least 21 shifts per month, of which seven are overnight shifts, and five are weekend shifts.
  • Full‑time employees or full‑time students are asked to provide availability for 15 shifts per month, of which five are overnight shifts (subject to employer or enrollment proof).

Key Accountabilities Programs
  • Observe residents and document any medical, behavioural, or other issues of concern; communicate observations to relief staff and management.
  • Interview clients to prepare care plans and background information (confidentiality required).
  • Be cognisant of, and work toward the implementation of the service plan established for each resident.
  • Meet with each resident routinely to discuss progress and plan future interventions.
  • Assist the Program Manager and/or other staff in identifying potential problems and reporting any difficulties, concerning/unsafe resident behaviours, and facility/equipment issues.
  • Use professional judgement to ascertain and apply appropriate intervention techniques with residents in crisis.
  • When assigned, participate in social, recreational, employment, educational, and other programs to support the resident’s service plan.
