Medical Technologist

Facility outside of the beautiful Olympic National Park and Forest is looking for a night shift Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist.

The Medical Technologist performs duties such as chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematological, immunohematologic, EKG’s, and bacteriologic tests to provide data for healthcare providers for diagnosing, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease. Responsibilities include receiving specimens for laboratory tests or obtaining body materials such as urine, blood, feces, pus, and tissue directly from patients. The role involves making quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses, cultivating, isolating, and identifying pathogenic bacteria and other microorganisms, performing blood tests for transfusion, recording and distributing test results, and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a Bachelor of Science in a chemical or biological science from a 4-year accredited college or university.

* Note:

Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived by the department manager depending on experience.

Experience/Training:

- Minimum three years’ experience as a Medical Technologist in a rural hospital setting, with on-call experience preferred.

- Previous experience with phlebotomy required.
