Responsibilities
  • Understand requirements of environmental contract commitments and ensure compliance
  • In conjunction with the GM, communicate with the NPS, State and Federal agencies on a regular basis regarding the site’s sustainability program requirements
  • Consistently communicate with General Manager regarding the status of the site’s environmental programs and audits
  • Lead and oversee waste management and the sustainability of concession operations within the park.
  • Lead and oversee environmental health and safety including fuel tank management & hazardous materials management.
  • Assist in designing, preparing, implementing, and maintaining the environmental management plan.
  • Lead and coordinate the site’s environmental operations to ensure permit renewals and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate Environmental Manager related to site safety procedures, reporting requirements and audits.
Requirements
  • Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient knowledge of safe environmental practices
  • Possess thorough knowledge of environmental priorities in the national parks
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with others.
  • Possess a general knowledge of ISO 14046, 14065 and 14001
Knowledge and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental sustainability or related field.
  • Experience: Three (3) or more years in environmental protection and/or research.
Resort/National Park Experience Preferred
