Project Overview

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.

The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self‑perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery.

Job Summary

The Siteworks Superintendent directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.

Major Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervising and directing craft operations within assigned disciplines or areas. Supervises and directs Craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance is in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budget. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
  • Coordinate with various discipline Superintendents, General Foreman, and Foreman to determine equipment requirements.
  • Schedule work to be performed, supervise in-process activities, and review work accomplished.
  • Prepare equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables.
  • Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in equipment support activities within various disciplines.
  • Prepare craft requisitions and forecasts, job manpower forecasts and expenditure forecast.
  • Develop and work plans and activities. Implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget.
  • Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned discipline operations.
  • Coordinates field activities with other disciplines.
  • Ensure that all State and Federal safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
Education And Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5‑8 years of relevant experience or 9‑12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
  • Demonstrated planning and scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
  • Must have work authorization within the United States of America.
  • Maintain, promote and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
  • Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects.
  • Sound understanding of performance management processes such as Six Sigma.
  • Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
