As a Meat Cutter, you will:

• Maintain a well‑stocked and well‑maintained department and provide superior customer service.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis while meeting all department and food safety/sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment such as electric grinders, saws, knife sharpeners, tenderizers, and slicers.
• Weigh, wrap, label, and rotate product for display, ensuring proper storage practices.
• Use MCS technology to generate production lists and track re‑works.
• Assist customers with product questions and scan items on Telxon for production.
• Assist in technical areas as needed.

• Clean and sanitize display cases and equipment.
• Comply with H‑EB food safety, sanitation standards, department SOPs, store operating procedures, and federal/state fresh meat regulations.

• Provide superior customer service and answer customer questions regarding products.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum age 18.
• 1+ years of related experience or training.
• Completion of power jack training.
• Completion of meat cutter learning plan and certification by trainer of the Meat Cutter Final Assessment course #001289 within 3 months (external).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of product rotation, department sanitation, shrink awareness, and MS Outlook (Word, Excel).
• Meat‑cutting skills (saw, grinder) and ability to operate relevant equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment, handling detailed tasks, and to lift and carry moderately heavy loads (40‑60 lbs).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, pivot, push/pull, and be exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, high‑tech chemicals, wet/humid conditions if required.
