Dental Assistant

• Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures.
• Assist dentists during procedures, including handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field of operation.
• Take dental X-rays and store electronic images as directed by the dentist.
• Demonstrate proficiency in provisional/temporary contouring and adaptation as well as matrix band placing and wedging.
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Prepare dental materials, such as impression compounds, cements, and composites.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including charting and updating treatment information.
• Educate patients on post-procedure care, oral hygiene practices, and preventive dental care.
• Manage dental supplies inventory and order replacements as needed.
• Schedule appointments and handle billing or insurance documentation when necessary.
• Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and ready for the next patient.

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program (preferred).
• Continuing education in advanced dental procedures, such as orthodontic or oral surgery assistance, is a plus.
• State licensure or certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), if required.
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
