Join Charlotte County Government as a Legal Assistant in the County Attorney’s Office and play a vital role in supporting the legal work that serves our community. In this dynamic and highly respected position, you’ll work closely with attorneys on a wide range of legal matters, from preparing case files and legal documents to managing calendars, coordinating communications, and handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

- High school diploma supplemented by coursework in legal studies or similar legal office practices
- Four (4) years of relevant legal secretarial or legal office work experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience.
In this role, you can expect to be an essential part of a collaborative legal team where your organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism directly support the County’s mission. Your ability to manage sensitive information, prepare accurate legal documents, coordinate schedules, and communicate effectively will help ensure that legal matters move forward efficiently and transparently. By supporting attorneys in the County Attorney’s Office, your work will contribute to sound legal decisions, effective representation, and the smooth operation of county government—ultimately helping protect public interests and serve the residents of Charlotte County with integrity and care.

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment and is nearly absent from disagreeable elements (e.g., irate customers, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights and/or dust).

There is little or no risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety associated with this position.
PhysicalActivities:
Walking, sitting, hearing, seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
