Overnight Security Guard – South Port Square

Job DescriptionThe Security Guard maintains a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, staff, and community property. Responsibilities include verifying employee presence, managing visitors, and supporting community events.
Daily Responsibilities- Respond to emergencies or natural disasters as directed by the Director of Plant Operations.
- Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with the department dress code.
- Attend in‑service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Authorize admission of all incoming traffic per established policies and procedures.
- Complete daily security schedule run sheets and manage overtime as necessary.
- Be on call to accommodate staff schedules, callouts, and time off.
- Assist management with marketing and community events, providing traffic direction, guest check‑in, parking, and security.
- Conduct special projects assigned by the Director.
- Keep management informed of security matters in a timely manner.
- Perform scheduled rounds inside and outside of the buildings to maintain security.
- Assist in identifying department needs.
- Observe and participate in the use of Universal Precautions.
- Assist in all phases of safety training, including fire drills and safety inspections, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and maintain scheduled security checks, walking inspections, and radio requests.
- Respond to the emergency response system following standard operating procedures. (Door unlock log, e‑call log, doctor run sheets.)
- Maintain timely, accurate reports and logs, including incident reports, safety inspections, repair and service requests, emergency call logs, doctor run sheets, and deliver pass‑on reports to relief officers.
- Immediately notify appropriate personnel of all emergencies, including Executive Director, Administrator, Department Heads, Supervisor, and Health Center Charge Nurse.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Class “B” firearm license.
- Must obtain CPR/AED certification.

Part‑time overnight shift: 12:00 AM–8:00 AM, Saturdays and Sundays. Salary: $14.00 per hour.
