Responsibilities- The General Manager will have complete oversight of all Transport assets and operations.
- The core responsibilities of the position will be to facilitate efficient dispatch between all lines of business and strategize process flow to become a premier provider.
- To be successful in the role, the manager will need a thorough understanding of transport dispatch, trucking and fuel.
- General Profit and Loss responsibility.
- Consolidate and oversee dispatch to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and dependability.
- Management, dispatch, and asset utilization.
- Effectively interact with our customers to provide the best possible level of service.
- Oversee dispatching of routes to accomplish the most efficient routing of product and utilization of equipment while meeting the expectations of the customers.
- Supervise the maintenance of vehicles ensuring maximum utilization, maximum life expectancy and safe operation.
- Responsible for the timely processing of all invoices.
- Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, disciplining and training of all drivers, mechanics and clerical personnel at the facility.
- Evaluate terminal employee’s performance and insures proper training of employees as required in all functional areas, by establishing training goals and routinely reviewing each individual’s progress.
- Participate in budget preparation, and be responsible for meeting terminal goals.
- Prepares all reports and communications as required in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper appearance, image and security of the facility and equipment.
- Establish work rules and standard operating procedures for all terminal functions.
- Bachelor in Logistics Preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a petroleum transportation, terminal dispatch, logistics and/or trucking role.
- Must be able to read/write the English language.
- Must be able to use a computer with proficiency in Word, Excel and e‑mail, operate a copier, use the phone, pass/receive paperwork through the driver window, data entry, etc.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with internal personnel.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures is a must.
