Ozz Electric is looking for a BIM Coordinator to join the team. Reporting to the BIM Manager, the BIM Coordinator is responsible for using BIM Technology and peripheral equipment to resize, modify and produce electrical design drawings for construction projects.
This is a one-year contract, with the opportunity to become permanent.
Role and Responsibilities
Model electrical services in Revit, according to the IFC (original design) and site layout (design intent).
Maintain company BIM Standards across the project.
Coordinate electrical services internally and with other trades.
Implement shop drawings from vendors and consultant supply chains in 3D elements to reflect equipment’s accuracy.
Produce virtual files to be used by the project site team to aid decision-making during installation and to be built.
Understand construction drawings, building structures and construction process.
Develop electrical layouts from 3D (Revit) files, with building information reflected in 2D.
Allocate and produce reflected electrical As-Build drawings in 3D/2D models.
Collaborate with BIM Leader’s, site and management team, contractors, and other trades.
Assist project managers with project administration as needed.
All other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
College diploma in Architectural Technology program or similar program.
BIM or CAD certification.
Knowledge of 3D/2D software’s (Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks).
Ability to understand IFC drawings and conceptual and schematic design to produce fabrication design layouts.
Understanding of shop drawings, specifications and standards.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to details.
Strong time-management skills in order to meet deadlines and to complete deliverables.
Multidisciplinary experience in construction and design.
Knowledge of construction industry and electrical contracting is an asset.
Able to work in a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams.
