Director of Finance & Corporate Services

We are looking for an experienced Finance Leader to join a growing hi-tech engineering organization on a consulting basis in Surrey, British Columbia. This position will guide financial reporting, planning, and corporate services while providing clear insights that support executive and board-level decision-making. The successful candidate will help strengthen financial operations, develop scalable processes, and build high-performing teams to support business growth and complex project activity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial results, ensuring reporting is accurate, timely, and decision-ready.

• Partner with senior leaders to shape the annual budgeting cycle and maintain rolling forecasts that reflect operational priorities and business performance.

• Direct general ledger oversight, account reconciliations, balance sheet review, internal control practices, and compliance-related financial governance.

• Create and present financial statements, performance analysis, and strategic updates for executives, international stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.

• Manage the annual audit process, coordinate tax filing activities, and act as the primary contact for external auditors and financial advisors.

• Develop financial models and longer-range planning scenarios covering one- to three-year horizons to support strategic objectives and organizational growth.

• Build and lead the business intelligence function, including participating in the recruitment and onboarding of key team members such as a Business Analyst.

• Establish and expand corporate services capabilities, including supporting the hiring of leadership roles needed to strengthen the function.

• Design an effective framework for grant reporting so the team can deliver reporting requirements consistently and accurately.

• Collaborate with IT and internal stakeholders to define reporting and dashboard needs, and support future finance-related system and process enhancements when required.
