Precision Machinist at KONGSBERG

KONGSBERG seeks a Precision Machinist in Port Coquitlam, BC, to produce and repair intricate parts using CNC lathes and milling machines. This role emphasizes collaboration with Engineering and a strong grasp of multi-material machining.

As a Machinist, you will report to the Production Manager to create and repair precision components for multiple departments, including Manufacturing and R&D. You will leverage your extensive tool operation experience to ensure high-quality production outputs and provide manufacturability insights during design phases. Maintaining machine shop equipment and adhering to quality standards are also crucial aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine parts using CNC lathes and milling machines

• Design production test fixtures for transducer manufacturing

• Provide manufacturability input to Engineering teams

• Measure and test completed units for quality

• Maintain shop equipment in optimal condition

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a machining role

• Inter-Provincial TQ / Red Seal certification preferred

• Knowledge of machining ceramics and metals

• Familiarity with Master Cam and Solid Works

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
