- Operate production equipment such as Nimco machinery, Fogg lines, baggers, pumps, valves, and related production systems.
- Set up and calibrate machinery for production runs.
- Adjust machine settings including speed, pressure, and temperature to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently throughout production.
Key Responsibilities Machine Operation
- Operate production equipment such as Nimco machinery, Fogg lines, baggers, pumps, valves, and related production systems.
- Set up and calibrate machinery for production runs.
- Adjust machine settings including speed, pressure, and temperature to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently throughout production.
- Monitor production output to ensure compliance with product specifications and food safety standards.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Identify and report product defects, process deviations, or quality concerns.
- Take corrective action within the scope of the position.
- Complete production records and logs accurately.
- Record machine settings, production quantities, downtime, and performance information.
- Document maintenance activities and equipment issues.
- Communicate production concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and make minor repairs or adjustments as required.
- Escalate equipment failures and maintenance concerns appropriately.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Quality, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Ensure all production activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of machinery operation.
- Basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills.
- Familiarity with industrial safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience operating manufacturing or food processing equipment preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required by production operations.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as operationally required.
