Randstad Canada is hiring for an Assembly Technician in the Port Coquitlam, BC area for one of our leading clients in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing industry.

This position is intended to be an initial contract via Randstad Canada until the employee is able to converted to the client's team as an internal employee.

The location is on VEH EMB Port Coquitlam

Payrate $27/ hr

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week with opportunity for overtime.

Responsibilities
Strong electrical prototyping skills with tools such as: wire strippers, wire and lug crimpers, connector insertion and extraction tools and soldering systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with guidance
Perform basic soldering of electronic components (primarily through‑hole, some surface‑mount)
Assemble mechanical and electro‑mechanical parts accurately and consistently
Perform wiring and cable assembly tasks such as routing, fastening, and labeling
Identify and report assembly issues or errors during the build process
Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship and basic functionality

Qualifications
1. Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
2. The ability to count higher than just using 10 fingers.
3. Some level of Excel, Word, ERP (Syteline) skills.
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Excellent customer communication skills, must get along well with people and be very organized.
6. Ability to work efficiently as a team member.
7. Ability to grasp new tasks and concepts quickly.
8. Strong work ethic.

Skills & Qualifications
Basic understanding of electronics or electrical systems
Ability to read schematic diagrams or willingness to learn
Soldering skills or hands‑on experience with soldering tools
Good attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
Comfortable using hand tools and small assembly equipment
Ability to work with minimal supervision once instructions are understood
Working knowledge of Syteline/SAP ERP system
