At Bridge Machine, we're looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator who knows how to take a drawing, a piece of material, or a repair challenge and turn it into quality work.

This isn't repetitive production welding.

Our work involves hydraulic cylinders, heavy industrial components, custom fabrication, repairs and rebuilds. That means every job can bring a different challenge - and we're looking for someone who enjoys figuring out how to get it done right.

Bridge Machine specializes in machining, hydraulic cylinder repair, manufacturing and rebuild services for demanding industrial applications.

As a Welder/Fabricator, you'll work on a variety of custom fabrication, repair and rebuild projects.

You’ll:

• Fabricate, fit and weld components from drawings, sketches and specifications
• Perform welding on hydraulic, heavy industrial and fabricated components
• Measure, lay out, cut, fit and assemble materials prior to welding
• Perform repair and build-up welding on worn or damaged components
• Prepare materials using cutting, grinding, gouging, beveling and other fabrication techniques
• Interpret drawings, dimensions, tolerances and work orders
• Determine appropriate fit-up, welding sequence and fabrication approach
• Verify dimensions, alignment and fit throughout the fabrication process
• Inspect your own work to ensure it meets quality requirements
• Identify fabrication or repair challenges and work with the team to determine practical solutions
• Operate common fabrication equipment, power tools and hand tools
• Safely rig, position and move large components using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment
• Work closely with machinists, honing machinists and other members of the Bridge production team
• Complete required job and production documentation
• Maintain welding and fabrication equipment and a clean, organized work area
• Follow all Bridge Machine quality and safety procedures

We're looking for someone who is more than just a production welder.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• 3-5+ years of welding and fabrication experience
• Strong MIG/FCAW and stick welding capabilities
• Experience fitting and fabricating components independently
• Ability to read and work from drawings, sketches and specifications
• Strong measuring, layout and fit-up skills
• Experience with cutting, grinding, gouging and material preparation
• Experience working with a variety of materials and material thicknesses
• Heavy industrial, equipment repair or hydraulic cylinder experience is a strong asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
• Experience with overhead cranes and rigging
• Ability to work independently and manage your work from setup through completion
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• A safety-first approach

Journeyperson Welder certification and additional welding tickets are assets, but not required. We're equally interested in demonstrated skill, experience and the ability to produce quality work.

You're the person who can look at a drawing and start thinking about how you're going to build it.

You understand fit-up. You know that good welding starts with good preparation. You measure your work, think about sequence and distortion, and care about what the finished product looks like.

You're also comfortable with repair work where the answer isn't always written on a drawing.
