Accountant - Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Summer stand, Port Elizabeth team on a contract basis. There is a possibility of the position going permanent

• Drafting annual financial statements on Caseware
• Review annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS for SMEs
• Perform monthly accounting functions including journals, reconciliations, and management reports
• Complete tax calculations and submissions for individuals, companies, and trusts (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, etc.)
• Handle CIPC submissions and compliance (annual returns, company changes, etc.)
• Liaise with clients, SARS, and other regulatory bodies
• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for clients
• Provide guidance and support to trainee accountants and clerks
• Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory changes in accounting and tax

• Grade 12 BCom Accounting
• Completed SAIPA Articles
• Minimum of 2-4 years' experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act, and relevant tax legislation
• Experience with Caseware and Xero
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
