Site Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Civil Engineer to oversee and manage civil works on construction sites in and around Port Elizabeth . This position requires a hands-on approach, ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the primary point of contact on-site for civil engineering matters, liaising with contractors, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

This role is crucial for maintaining site integrity and progress, providing valuable real-world engineering experience.

• Supervise and direct on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to design standards.
• Identify and resolve any site-related civil engineering issues promptly and effectively.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, method statements, and construction drawings.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project management.
• Ensure effective coordination between different trades and disciplines on the construction site.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site supervision or construction management for civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
