Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Port Elizabeth . You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates to the final accounts. This role requires a strong understanding of construction economics, contract law, and the ability to analyze financial information and market conditions. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining commercial viability and contractual compliance, playing a key role in the financial success of developments.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor project expenditures and provide regular cost reports to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions.

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• Professional registration with SACQSP or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency in relevant QS software and measurement standards.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
