The Construction Project Controls Engineer will join WBHO’s dynamic Project Controls department in Port Elizabeth, supporting the planning, monitoring, and reporting of multi‑million‑rand construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and finance teams to develop robust control systems, analyze performance data, and provide actionable insights.

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare cost forecasts, variance analyses, and earned value reports for senior management.
• Monitor project progress against baseline plans and identify potential risks or delays.
• Coordinate with site teams to collect accurate data on labor, materials, and equipment usage.
• Implement and enforce project control procedures, ensuring compliance with WBHO standards.
• Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance dashboards for stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of mitigation strategies to address schedule slippages or cost overruns.

• Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost control tools.
• Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data accuracy and interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of South African construction regulations and standards.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to industry best practices.

Candidates should possess 5 to 7 years of hands‑on experience in project controls within the construction sector. Experience on large infrastructure or commercial projects, particularly in the South African market, will be highly valued. Prior exposure to integrated project delivery environments and familiarity with contract administration are also beneficial.
