Overview

Hire Resolve is seeking a talented Mechanical Designer for our client in the Industrial Automation industry. We are looking for a skilled individual to join the Design Department team, where you will deliver engineering designs and solutions tailored to customer requirements and specifications. In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs for various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comprehend the facility’s purpose and objectives.
  • Communicate with customers regarding requirements and changes during the design phase.
  • Define and set up process flowcharts and sequences of operation for required facilities.
  • Establish the most effective design solutions to meet required specifications.
  • Ensure that product solutions are developed and researched to achieve compliance with design objectives and project specifics.
  • Calculate stresses, forces, and accuracies.
  • Design and verify technical designs.
  • Specify components for procurement purposes.
  • Liaise with specialist consultants, such as Design Consultants and Suppliers.
  • Resolve manufacturing issues in the early stages of design and development.
  • Comply with ISO procedures regarding Project Handover, Concept Development, Design Realization, and Design Sign-off.
  • Create design release packages for manufacturing purposes.
  • Create final designs within a controlled budget environment.

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a design role, with expertise in concept development.
  • Formal tertiary education:
    National Diploma ( or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Experience in commissioning/manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in intermediate machine calculations and FEA.
  • Basic knowledge of material specifications and manufacturing processes, including welding principles.
  • Basic project leadership skills.
  • Must hold a valid Code 8 driver’s license.
  • Language skills:
    English (spoken, written), Afrikaans (spoken, written), German (advantageous).
