Location: GqeberhaNOV South Africa is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). In this role you will work with our team responsible for mechanical design and technical documentation on various equipment for new and existing markets. The Mechanical Engineering Team consists of Mechanical designers, Mechanical responsibles and Mechanical senior personnel. The department is a centre of competency for 2D- and 3D mechanical design focusing on delivering at the right time, the right quality and according to budget.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform detail design according to NOV guidelinesDevelop drawings for productionCollaborate with internal disciplines such as electrical, hydraulic, calculation, controls and technical safetyParticipate in the preparation of general project documentationParticipate in technical clarifications towards workshop/subcontractor/siteKeep up to date with regulations and regulatory requirementsQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE &
SKILLS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably within Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architect or Mechatronics (Essential)5+ years Experience with mechanical design (machine elements, tolerances, material selection, welding, ntial)SKILLS
Good understanding of mechanical construction methodsExperience with CAD systems, 2D and 3D (NX, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, CreoGood collaboration skillsExperience from the Oil and Gas industry or structural design space is preferredPositive, skilled person with good ability to work both independently and together with othersWhat we offer:
