An opportunity exists for a skilled Project Engineer within the Logistics Department to plan, design, develop and implement material handling, transport, packaging and logistics systems. The role supports Production, Planning, Localisation and Export projects by ensuring optimal material flow from source to point of use, while driving cost efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, design and implement logistics material flow concepts for production and warehouse environments.
- Develop layouts, drawings and technical specifications for logistics facilities and services.
- Design and procure logistics equipment including packaging, pallets, stillages, racking and storage systems.
- Prepare and manage detailed project plans, timelines and deliverables.
- Compile RFQ documentation, evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers where required.
- Prepare budget estimates, cost studies and project justifications.
- Coordinate project execution, testing, acceptance and handover.
- Develop and maintain packaging and logistics service specifications.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Chair and participate in meetings to ensure successful project delivery.
- Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Logistics.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a logistics planning or project engineering role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities under tight deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting and producing 3D CAD drawings.
- Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Experience with SAP Supply Chain Management systems.
- German language proficiency.
