Temporary Project Engineer – Automotive Logistics Division (automotive manufacturing)
Location: PE/Gqeberha
Salary:
Commensurate with qualification and experience
Qualifications / Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering / Logistics /Project or Operations Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in Logistics Planning or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ Project Management experience
- Experience with CAD systems, Power BI , Simulation Programs
- Experience working with external contractors on facility development/modifications
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to compile reports and present proposals to management
- Strong planning and organisational capability
- Good communication (written and verbal)
- Computer literacy and CAD proficiency
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and in teams
- Diplomacy and stakeholder engagement skills
Key Performance Areas:
- The role supports Production, P&A, Localization, and Export projects by ensuring efficient material flow, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement of logistics operations
- To facilitate all OHSE, legal, Internal and External audits for the Logistics Division
- Plan and implement logistics projects, production requests, and improvement initiatives
- Design and implement logistics facilities (racking, packaging, storage, trolleys, pallets, etc)
- Develop production and warehouse layouts using CAD systems
- Coordinate project meetings and liaise with stakeholders across departments
- Develop and optimise packaging specifications to reduce cost and prevent damage
- Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and operational standards
