About the Role
Our client, a leader in providing advanced telecoms solutions , is looking for a highly skilled Wireless Network Specialist to join their technical team in Port Elizabeth . This role is pivotal in the design, implementation, and optimization of our wireless network infrastructure, including cellular, Wi‑Fi, and other radio frequency-based systems. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our wireless services, supporting a wide range of enterprise and consumer applications.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with the latest wireless technologies in a challenging and rewarding environment.
- Design, deploy, and configure wireless network solutions, including access points, controllers, and related hardware.
- Perform site surveys, network analysis, and spectrum management to ensure optimal wireless performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex wireless network issues, including interference, connectivity, and security problems.
- Develop and implement wireless security policies and procedures to protect network integrity.
- Stay current with evolving wireless technologies, standards (e.g., Wi‑Fi 6, 5G), and best practices.
- Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to integrate wireless solutions into the broader network architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in wireless network design, implementation, and support.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, wireless protocols, and network security.
- Experience with wireless network management and monitoring tools.
- Relevant certifications such as CWNP, CCNA Wireless, or equivalent are highly valued.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced telecoms setting.
