About the Role
Our client is looking for a talented Transportation Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth , contributing to the planning and development of transportation infrastructure across the Eastern Cape. This role is integral to improving mobility, safety, and efficiency of road networks, public transport systems, and traffic management solutions. You will engage in complex traffic analysis, network modeling, and the design of transportation facilities, playing a key role in shaping the region's connectivity and economic growth.

- Conduct traffic impact assessments, traffic flow analysis, and network modeling.
- Design road alignments, intersections, interchanges, and public transport facilities.
- Develop traffic management plans and safety improvement strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for transportation projects.
- Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and government authorities to integrate transportation solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with national road design standards and safety regulations.
- Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation planning and design.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION, TRIPS).
- Strong understanding of road geometric design principles and traffic engineering practices.
- Experience with public transport planning and pedestrian/cycle facility design.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly regarded.
