We're looking for a passionate Control Systems Engineer who enjoys solving complex automation challenges and wants to grow into a technical leadership role.
This is more than a programming position.
You’ll design, develop and commission world-class automated manufacturing systems while working alongside experienced engineers on projects delivered across South Africa and internationally.
For the right person, this role provides a structured pathway into a Control Systems Supervisor position where you’ll lead programming teams, mentor engineers and drive successful project delivery.

What We're Looking For- Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
- Valid driver's licence
- Experience
We're looking for someone with approximately 3-5 years of industrial automation experience, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
Experience With Any Of The Following Would Be Advantageous- Siemens PLCs
- Beckhoff
- Allen Bradley
- Mitsubishi
- Omron
- Industrial Robotics
- Motion Control
- SCADA Systems
- Machine Vision
- Industrial Networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Serial Communications)

You’ll become involved in every phase of an automation project including:
- Developing PLC, HMI and SCADA software
- Designing control philosophies and machine sequences
- Configuring industrial networks and fieldbus systems
- Integrating robots, vision systems, motion control and measurement

- Testing and commissioning equipment both locally and internationally
- Supporting customers during installation and production ramp-up
- Producing high-quality technical documentation
- Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve software standards and engineering

- Lead small programming teams
- Plan software milestones and project deliverables
- Mentor junior engineers
- Coordinate commissioning activities
- Interface directly with customers
- Drive continuous improvement within the department
- Progress toward becoming a Control Systems Supervisor
