About the Role
Our client is looking for a Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of drilling operations by managing drilling fluid systems. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of drilling fluid programs, addressing challenges such as hole stability, formation damage, and drilling efficiency.
This hybrid position allows for a blend of on-site field support and remote technical analysis, providing flexibility while maintaining critical operational oversight in the Oil & Gas sector. You will work closely with drilling crews and management to deliver high-quality fluid solutions tailored to specific well requirements.
- Design and manage drilling fluid programs for various well types and geological conditions.
- Supervise onsite drilling fluids personnel and ensure adherence to fluid specifications.
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of drilling fluid samples.
- Troubleshoot drilling fluid problems and recommend effective solutions to maintain wellbore integrity.
- Collaborate with the drilling team to optimize fluid properties for improved drilling performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid systems, properties, and additives.
- Experience with fluid monitoring equipment and data analysis.
