About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to play a vital role in managing and developing water infrastructure across the Eastern Cape . This position involves the planning, design, and oversight of projects related to water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and catchment management. You will work on ensuring sustainable water resources for communities and industries, addressing challenges related to water scarcity and quality.
This is an important role for an engineer committed to environmental stewardship and ensuring resilient water systems in the region.
- Design and manage water supply systems, including dams, pipelines, and treatment plants.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment and management.
- Develop plans for wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure.
- Assess water resource availability and implement strategies for sustainable water use.
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with water-related legislation.
- Oversee construction and maintenance of water infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, specializing in Water Resources.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resource management and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET).
- Strong knowledge of water quality standards, environmental regulations, and catchment management principles.
- Experience with projects in the Eastern Cape or similar regions is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
