Senior Petrophysicist

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Petrophysicist to bolster their technical team in Port Elizabeth , focusing on critical subsurface evaluations within the Oil & Gas industry . This role demands expertise in analyzing well log data to derive crucial rock and fluid properties, which are fundamental to reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon volume assessment. You will play a key role in interpreting complex datasets, providing essential insights for exploration and production strategies.

• Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of diverse wireline and LWD logs.
• Determine reservoir properties such as porosity, permeability, saturation, and lithology.
• Develop and validate petrophysical models for various geological settings.
• Integrate petrophysical data with geological, seismic, and engineering information.
• Conduct core analysis validation and establish relationships between core and log data.
• Contribute to reserve estimations and field development planning through accurate petrophysical assessments.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in petrophysics, preferably within an E&P company.
• Proficiency with industry-standard petrophysical software packages (e.g., Techlog, Geo Graphix).
• Strong understanding of logging tools physics and data acquisition principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information.
• Experience with carbonates and clastics reservoir characterization is essential.
