About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Metallurgist with expertise in flotation processes to join their processing plant near Port Elizabeth . This role is pivotal in optimizing the recovery of valuable minerals through efficient flotation operations. You will be responsible for process monitoring, troubleshooting, reagent management, and implementing improvements to enhance recovery rates and reduce operational costs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mineral processing and a proven track record in optimizing flotation circuits in a challenging industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and control flotation circuits to maximize recovery and concentrate grade for various minerals.
- Conduct laboratory and plant test work to evaluate new reagents, process configurations, and operating parameters.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to maintain process stability.
- Manage and optimize reagent addition strategies to balance performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze process data, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and management teams to achieve production targets and safety standards.
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing, with a strong focus on flotation metallurgy.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex flotation circuits.
- Experience with various mineral types and associated reagents.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in process data analysis and reporting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in a plant environment.
