About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Geophysicist with expertise in seismic data analysis to join their exploration team in Port Elizabeth . This role is crucial for interpreting subsurface structures and identifying potential hydrocarbon reservoirs through the analysis of complex seismic datasets. You will work with advanced geophysical software and collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to contribute to the company's exploration strategies.

- Process, interpret, and analyze 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures, faults, and strati graphic features.
- Integrate seismic data with well log and core data to build accurate subsurface models.
- Perform seismic attribute analysis, velocity modeling, and depth conversion to enhance reservoir characterization.
- Collaborate with exploration teams to identify drilling prospects and evaluate geological risks.
- Develop and maintain geophysical databases and workflows.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geophysical technology and methodologies.
- Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a related geoscience discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in seismic data interpretation and analysis, preferably in the oil and gas industry .
- Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, Opend Tect, Kingdom).
- Strong understanding of seismic processing techniques and data quality assessment.
- Experience with amplitude variation with offset (AVO) analysis and attribute analysis.
