Our client is looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer specializing in Water Resources Management to join their team in Port Elizabeth . You will play a vital role in managing and optimizing the region's water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, treatment plants, and distribution networks. This position is key to ensuring sustainable water supply and effective wastewater management for the community. You will work on challenging projects that address water scarcity and quality concerns within the Eastern Cape , contributing directly to environmental sustainability and public health.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and manage water supply systems, including dams, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
- Plan and oversee the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Conduct hydrological studies, water balance analyses, and flood risk assessments.
- Develop strategies for water conservation, storm water management, and pollution control.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and water quality standards.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering and infrastructure management.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is advantageous.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes and environmental impact assessment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
