About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer focused on Water Resources to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for managing and developing sustainable water infrastructure, addressing challenges related to supply, treatment, and distribution. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing solutions for water conservation and management projects. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact on water security and sustainability in the Eastern Cape, working within a supportive team dedicated to innovative environmental engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manage water supply, treatment, and distribution systems, including pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
- Conduct hydrological studies and develop models for flood control, stormwater management, and water resource planning.
- Perform hydraulic analysis and design for wastewater collection and treatment facilities.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory permit applications for water-related projects.
- Oversee the construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban planners, and other stakeholders to integrate water resource management into broader development plans in Port Elizabeth .
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in water resource engineering.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and GIS tools.
- Strong understanding of water quality regulations and sustainable water management practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
