About the Role
Our client is searching for an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to contribute to their advanced research and development initiatives in Port Elizabeth . This role focuses on innovating and scaling up new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. You will play a key part in translating research findings into viable industrial applications, working closely with R&D chemists and engineers.

- Lead the development and scale-up of novel chemical processes from conceptual design to full-scale implementation.
- Conduct pilot plant trials, analyze results, and optimize process parameters for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop process models and simulations to predict performance and identify potential scale-up challenges.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, process descriptions, and design documentation.
- Ensure all process development activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting in the chemical industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience with pilot plant operations and scale-up methodologies.
- Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation processes, and process control.
- Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical teams.
