About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and proactive Project Mechanical Engineer to manage and execute mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion in their Port Elizabeth facility. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication abilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing resources, and liaising with stakeholders, operating within a hybrid work model that balances office-based collaboration with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these objectives.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Manage project resources, including personnel and equipment, to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure designs and deliverables meet engineering specifications and client requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in project management.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects, demonstrating successful delivery of complex tasks.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
