Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in the automotive sector to join their dynamic team in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) . This role focuses on designing and developing innovative automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will be integral in translating vehicle requirements into robust mechanical designs, utilizing advanced CAD and simulation tools.

• Design and develop automotive mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Perform detailed analysis, including FEA and CFD , to optimize design performance and durability.

• Create detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.
• Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and regulations.
• Participate in prototype testing and validation activities, providing feedback for design improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on the automotive industry .
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of automotive components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, powertrain, or chassis systems is a significant advantage.
