Wireless Network Planner - Telecoms

Our client, a prominent telecommunications company operating in
** Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape**, is seeking a talented Wireless Network Planner to join their expanding team. This role is vital for the strategic planning, design, and optimization of wireless networks, including cellular (4G/5G) and fixed wireless access solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring network coverage, capacity, and performance meet evolving customer demands. • Plan and design wireless network coverage and capacity using specialized planning tools.
• Analyze network performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Develop network deployment plans, including site acquisition recommendations and antenna placement strategies.
• Perform drive tests and signal measurements to validate network performance and coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful network implementation and troubleshooting.
• Stay informed about the latest wireless technologies, standards (e.g., 3
  
  GPP releases), and vendor solutions.
• Generate reports on network performance, coverage, and capacity for management review.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of new wireless technologies and equipment.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards in network planning.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wireless network planning and design.
• Proficiency with wireless network planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or similar.
• Solid understanding of cellular network technologies (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G ).
• Experience with radio frequency (RF) principles and propagation modeling.
• Familiarity with drive testing tools and post-processing analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience working within the
  ** Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
  ** telecommunications sector is advantageous.
• Knowledge of fixed wireless access technologies is a plus.
