Senior Process Engineer - Polymers

A dynamic and growing company specializing in advanced polymer materials is seeking a highly motivated Senior Process Engineer for their manufacturing facility located in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape . This role is critical for optimizing existing polymer production processes and developing new manufacturing techniques to enhance product quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in polymer processing, extrusion, molding, or related fields, coupled with a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles.

Develop, implement, and optimize polymer manufacturing processes, including extrusion, injection molding, and compounding. Conduct detailed process analysis to identify areas for improvement in terms of yield, quality, and cost reduction. Troubleshoot process deviations and equipment issues, implementing effective corrective actions. Collaborate with R&D teams on new product development and scale-up activities. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during manufacturing operations.

Manage process-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on process operations and best practices. Monitor process performance using key metrics and implement data-driven improvements. Contribute to the development and implementation of process control strategies.

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on polymer manufacturing. Proven expertise in polymer processing technologies (e.g., extrusion, molding, polymerization). Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools. Strong understanding of material properties and their impact on processing. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape .
