The Cloud Solutions Sales Engineer will act as a technical bridge between Microsoft’s cloud product suite and prospective clients in South Africa. This role involves designing, presenting, and demonstrating Azure‑based solutions that address complex business challenges, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Microsoft’s best practices. Key Responsibilities- Engage with C‑level and senior IT stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into Azure cloud solutions.
- Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, demos, and proof‑of‑concepts that showcase the value of Microsoft cloud services.
- Collaborate with sales teams to craft tailored proposals, pricing models, and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Azure services, licensing, security, compliance, and emerging technologies.
- Provide pre‑sales technical support, including solution architecture, sizing, and migration planning.
- Partner with Microsoft partners and system integrators to co‑sell and co‑deliver solutions.
- Track and report on sales pipeline metrics, forecast revenue, and contribute to quarterly business reviews.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes affecting cloud adoption in South Africa.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless architectures.
- Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience with enterprise licensing models, subscription billing, and cost optimisation.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local data protection regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
- Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialised certifications in cloud computing will be considered an advantage.
