Security Operations Center; SOC) Manager

Our client is looking for a seasoned and decisive Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead their state-of-the-art SOC in Port Elizabeth . This critical role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the SOC, ensuring the effective monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to cyber threats. You will manage a team of SOC analysts, develop and refine SOC playbooks, and continuously improve the detection and response capabilities.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in SOC environments, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of security monitoring tools and incident management processes. This position offers the chance to protect vital digital assets and lead a high-performing security team.

• Manage and mentor the SOC analyst team, ensuring 24/7 coverage and high-quality incident handling.
• Oversee the operation and tuning of security monitoring tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOC procedures, playbooks, and escalation protocols.
• Lead and coordinate incident response activities, ensuring swift and effective containment and remediation of security events.
• Analyze security alerts and threat intelligence to identify malicious activity and trends.
• Report on SOC performance metrics, incident trends, and security posture to senior management in Port Elizabeth .

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with at least 2 years in a SOC management or team lead role.
• Proven experience with SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other SOC technologies.
• Strong understanding of threat landscapes, attack vectors, and incident response methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required for managing a SOC in Port Elizabeth .
