Telecoms Network Security Specialist

Our client is looking for a dedicated Telecoms Network Security Specialist to safeguard their extensive network infrastructure in Port Elizabeth . This critical role involves protecting telecommunications systems from cyber threats, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining the confidentiality and availability of network services. You will be responsible for implementing and managing security measures, monitoring network activity for potential breaches, and responding to security incidents.

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity and potential security breaches.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and defense techniques relevant to the telecommunications industry.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security, specifically within a telecommunications environment.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM), and encryption techniques.
• Experience with security compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CCSP are highly preferred.
