About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Industrial Engineer specializing in logistics optimization to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is vital for enhancing the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of their supply chain and distribution networks. You will analyze current logistics operations, design and implement improvements, and leverage data analytics to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and minimize transportation costs.

Working closely with warehouse management, transportation partners, and procurement teams, you will drive impactful changes that directly affect the company's bottom line. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your engineering expertise in a critical area of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and map current logistics and supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Design and implement optimized warehouse layouts, material handling systems, and distribution strategies.
  • Develop and utilize advanced routing and scheduling software to improve transportation efficiency.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed logistical changes and investments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration of logistics improvements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and report on progress and areas needing attention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong emphasis on supply chain and logistics .
  • Proven experience in optimizing warehousing, transportation, and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency with logistics planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of global trade regulations and freight forwarding processes is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
