About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands‑on Industrial Cleaner & Maintenance Assistant to join their facility operations team in Port Elizabeth . This role is vital for ensuring a safe, clean, and well‑maintained working environment within an industrial setting. You will be responsible for performing specialized cleaning tasks on machinery and production areas, as well as assisting with general maintenance duties. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working in an industrial environment, possesses a strong understanding of safety protocols, and is eager to contribute to the smooth operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specialized cleaning of industrial equipment, machinery, and production floors to remove grease, oil, dirt, and debris.
- Conduct routine deep cleaning of warehouses, workshops, and other industrial facilities according to a set schedule.
- Assist maintenance technicians with basic repair tasks, tool management, and site upkeep.
- Dispose of industrial waste and hazardous materials safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and break rooms within the industrial site in Port Elizabeth .
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning or a related maintenance role.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals, solvents, and equipment, including pressure washers and floor scrubbers.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
- A proactive attitude towards identifying and addressing potential maintenance or cleaning issues.
