Plastic Injection Moulding Technician

We are recruiting an experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter for a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for machine setup, process optimisation, and supporting production output to meet quality and delivery targets. This role requires strong technical ability, problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced production environment.

• Plastic Federation Injection Moulding Machine Setting Certificate (NQF L4 or similar)
• Minimum 3 years experience setting injection moulding machines
• Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
• Exposure to process optimisation and production troubleshooting
• Experience supervising or guiding production staff on shift
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required

• Set and optimise injection moulding machines and related equipment
• Ensure production runs efficiently according to schedules and targets
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action where required
• Reduce scrap and improve cycle times through process improvements
• Supervise operators during shifts and provide technical support
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
• Maintain production documentation such as setting sheets and work instructions
• Assist with troubleshooting production and machine issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices
• Provide support across shifts when required, including overtime
