Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA department in ensuring that all Toyota South Africa Motors products meet stringent internal and external quality standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality management systems, overseeing audits, and driving corrective actions across the production line. The manager will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality into every stage of the manufacturing process.

By championing a culture of zero defects, the manager will help maintain Toyota’s reputation for excellence while supporting the company’s strategic objectives in the South African market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the ISO 9001‑based Quality Management System (QMS) across all manufacturing operations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Toyota global standards.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and drive root‑cause investigations to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to integrate quality considerations into product development and prototype testing.
  • Mentor and train QA staff, fostering a proactive quality mindset throughout the plant.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to assess and improve incoming material quality, conducting supplier audits as needed.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports for senior management, highlighting performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Support the launch of new vehicle models by ensuring all quality checkpoints are met on schedule.
Required Skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and automotive industry quality standards.
